YYGS 2027 with SACGC
Two weeks of science and technology at Yale
SACGC will support five Kuwaiti students admitted to the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) 2027 Innovations in Science and Technology session.
This two-week summer program offers academic exploration and discussion with students from around the world. SACGC funding is subject to scholarship approval and the conditions below.

Who can apply
Eligibility criteria
Kuwaiti students interested in science and technology who meet YYGS admission requirements and any SACGC scholarship requirements announced for the 2027 cycle. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- NationalityKuwaiti nationals only.
- Age16–18 years by August 2027.
- Academic performanceMinimum GPA of 95% or equivalent.
- English proficiencyDemonstrated English-language proficiency.
- STEM experiencePrevious participation in STEM-related competitions, research, or projects, supported by certificates.
- InterviewMust successfully pass the selection committee interview.
- Previous participationMust not have previously participated in SACGC international trips or enrichment programs.

Application cycle
Six steps from application to reimbursement
YYGS admission and SACGC scholarship approval are separate decisions. Each step depends on the one before it.
- Apply at the YYGS website
Apply directly through the official Yale Young Global Scholars website and obtain an unconditional acceptance letter for IST.
- Send the acceptance letter to SACGC
Email your unconditional YYGS acceptance letter to SACGC for scholarship consideration and approval.
- Make payment
The parent or guardian pays the program fees directly to Yale by Yale's deadline and retains the invoice and payment evidence.
- Book your flight
Arrange and book the approved round-trip economy flight and retain the flight invoice.
- Send invoices and required documents
Submit the university and flight invoices, visa if required, health insurance evidence, signed undertaking and any further documents requested by SACGC.
- Receive reimbursement
Subject to SACGC approval, verification of enrolment and continued participation, and fulfilment of the conditions below, eligible approved costs are reimbursed by bank transfer to the guardian in the first week of the program.
Administrative fee: a non-refundable KD 250 fee is required to reserve a seat after SACGC scholarship approval.
Terms and conditions
Before you apply
By applying for and participating in the program, the student and parent or guardian agree to the following conditions.
01Program participation
The parent or guardian approves participation in the designated YYGS Innovations in Science and Technology session. YYGS admission and SACGC scholarship approval are separate decisions.
02Program costs covered by SACGC
SACGC is financially responsible only for approved program fees and the approved round-trip economy airfare. Approval and payment are subject to the scholarship conditions.
03Medical fitness
The parent or guardian confirms that the student is medically fit to travel and participate fully.
04Health insurance
The parent or guardian must obtain valid health insurance for the entire travel period at their own expense.
05Payment and reimbursement
The parent or guardian must pay the program fees directly to Yale by its deadline and book the approved flight. SACGC will reimburse eligible approved costs to the guardian by bank transfer in the first week of the program after verifying enrolment, continued participation and the required documents. SACGC may postpone or cancel reimbursement if conditions are not fulfilled.
06Flight booking
The parent or guardian must retain the flight invoice and follow SACGC's approved travel dates and airfare conditions.
07Visa requirements
The parent or guardian must obtain any required travel visa and provide a copy to SACGC at least seven calendar days before the program begins.
08Administrative fee
A non-refundable administrative fee of KD 250 must be paid to SACGC to reserve the approved scholarship place.
09Changes to travel arrangements
Any additional airline charges resulting from a requested change to approved travel dates are the responsibility of the student or parent or guardian.
10Photography, video and media consent
The student and parent or guardian agree that the student's name, photographs, videos and recordings may be used by SACGC in its documentation and promotional materials without compensation, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
11Force majeure and exceptional circumstances
Official supporting documents must be submitted when circumstances beyond the student's control, such as serious illness, accident, war or natural disaster, affect participation. SACGC will review the case under its approved regulations.
12Student monitoring and follow-up
SACGC may monitor conduct and progress during the program through an appointed representative or other appropriate means.
13Accommodation and meals
Students must stay in program accommodation or other accommodation designated by SACGC. Where accommodation and meals are included in the approved program, their costs are covered as part of the approved program fees borne by SACGC.
14Code of conduct
Students must comply with SACGC, YYGS and program rules and instructions. A violation may lead to removal from the program or termination of participation without additional financial responsibility for SACGC.
15Emergency parent or guardian travel
If an emergency requires a parent or guardian to travel to the student, the parent or guardian bears all related costs.
16Withdrawal or failure to complete the program
If the student fails to complete the program for a reason SACGC does not accept, the parent or guardian may be required to repay program costs incurred by SACGC within 30 days of notification, in accordance with the signed undertaking.
17Compliance with SACGC instructions
The student must follow SACGC instructions before, during and after the program. Failure to comply may result in appropriate administrative action.
18Applicable law and jurisdiction
These conditions are governed by the laws of Kuwait, and the competent courts of Kuwait have jurisdiction over disputes arising from participation.
